Urban Conservancy Reveals its Sources
Dear UC Readers,
Every week the Urban Conservancy puts out an update for the city, knitting together threads of information, analysis, announcements, tips, and treasures about the place we so dearly love. Our goal is to give context to the events that are unfolding underneath our feet, and to make it easier for the average citizen to participate in the activities that will help shape the future of New Orleans - from grassroots protests to formal rebuilding committees.
We rely on our readers to feed us information, but we also make the rounds to a variety of news sources every week, both formal and informal. It takes a bit of time and energy to cull these sources, and our service to our members and supporters is to synthesize this information and present it in a way that is useful and provocative.
We at the Urban Conservancy have always advocated for transparency and honesty in public service, so at the risk of putting ourselves out of business, we’d like to share with you the main local sources that we use to compile the UC newsletter. We encourage you to sign up with these listserves and check in on these websites from time to time. And if you have suggestions for other primary news sources, let us know.
Enjoy,
UC Staff
